Lamb Burgers

If there’s one thing that's for  certain – it’s that summer is time for burgers. On the grill or in cast iron. On a picnic table or for a living room picnic. There’s really no wrong way to eat a burger in the summer. And it seems like they are everywhere. So sometimes it’s nice to take a break from beef or turkey or even veggie and try something a little different.

Chowdah & Nostalgia

There’s something about summer that makes me crave Clam Chowder. It feels completely counter-intuitive – a hot, creamy soup on a hot day? But you know what?  It works. It smells like ocean, and tastes like the sea breeze. It allows you to be on a wharf even when you might be stuck inside an office all day or unable to make it to a body of water on a sweltering day. My suggestion? Whip up a batch of this, turn the groovy tunes up and pour yourself some Chardonnay.

In Pursuit of Passion – Sarah Pike of Tops’l Farm

Sarah Pike is the kind of woman who seems like a long-lost friend, even when you’ve never met, even over email. Her can-do attitude, cheerful enthusiasm, and refreshing humility further endear her to friends, family, and new acquaintances alike.

Antipasti for a Crowd

So…all of a sudden your best friend called her boyfriend who called his buddies and now you’ve got about 15 people arriving to your small backyard in just under two hours. There will be plenty of wine, of course, but you want to make sure that your hostess skills are on point. Although tradition might say that it’s not in the best taste to invite friends to a friend’s house without notice, we say the more the merrier.

Bodellicious Bites: Crab Risotto

As a chef and a fisherman, there are few times of the year that get me as excited as Dungeness crab season. Crab is one of my favorite sea creatures to fish for and to eat. As a fisherman, there is nothing quite like the anticipation of pulling up a crab trap from the ocean bottom, calculating how heavy it feels as you retrieve the line, and swinging the trap over the gunwale of your boat to finally come face to face with your catch.

Welcome to 'a tavola'

Meaning “to the table,” a tavola is a casual dining experience inspired by Francis Coppola’s favorite way of enjoying a meal. Like eating at your family’s home, there are no menus.
