Rustic Pie

This Rustic Pie comes from Mama Coppola’s recipe book and is a delightful addition to any weekend brunch or holiday celebration.

Fast Ginger Meatballs

It’s always nice to have an easy dish in your repertoire that can be served either as a quick meal or as an impressive appetizer to bring to a party.

Lentils Provencal

Don’t let the name fool you – this is not a healthy dish. It is, however, what I would classify as healthy-ish, as in it does use all fresh and whole ingredients. But alas the pound of bacon make it less than truly healthy in my book.

Eggplant Parmesan

Talk about comfort food. This layered Eggplant Parmesan is perfect for feeding a lot of your favorite people or making for a Sunday dinner and having leftovers all week! It’s extremely easy to make and a fun project for two people in the kitchen.

Tortilla Española

Tortilla Española is one of my favorite foods. Period. Not to be confused with a tortilla – it’s an egg dish full of olive oil, potatoes and onions. It’s easy, filling and is a complete crowd pleaser at every meal – breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Manhattan Clam Chowder

What’s funny about Manhattan Clam Chowder is that it’s origins are actually from Rhode Island, a very easily arguable point in New England.

Tuesday Night Lamb Tacos

Some weeks are full of things to do, people to see and places to go. Others are a little bit more low key and potentially in need of a midweek pick me up. That’s where these lamb tacos come in.

Listening Suggestion: First Aid Kit

As an addition to our weekly recipes, we’ll be sharing new music releases that we hope you’ll enjoy. First up is “Ruins,” by First Aid Kit. This is a great album to enjoy with your favorite book, a glass of wine and a future that continues to surprise you as it unfolds.

New Year Salads

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season full of good company, good food, good wine, and of course, plenty of adventures. To compensate for some of the overindulgence we all engage in over the festivities of the season, I thought I might bring to you today some salads (well, salad-like foods) that incorporate ingredients said to bring luck in the New Year.

Delicious Holiday Desserts

There’s no better time of the year to indulge in delicious desserts than the holidays. It’s also the best time of year to experiment with things that seem too tough for just a normal dessert.

Homemade Holiday Gifts

Sometimes the holiday season feels overwhelming in the best way possible. Merry and bright and full of parties and presents and families. It also feels like there is always a need to bring something to someone or somewhere

Easy Holiday Appetizers

It’s that time of year again. The most wonderful time of year! And with the most wonderful time of year comes the most wonderful amount of parties, entertaining and noshing.

Holiday Latkes

One of my most favorite holiday foods are latkes. Latkes are potato pancakes that we eat over Hanukkah and go with just about anything else on the dinner table.

Counting Crows to Headline “For the Love of Sonoma” North Bay Fire Relief Benefit Concert

The Family Coppola in Partnership with BottleRock Presents and Sonoma State University’s Green Music Center will host a Fundraising Concert with Proceeds Benefiting North Bay Fire Relief Fund & Noma Gives

A Pumpkin Soup to Fall For

With no empirical evidence to back up my theory, I’d say that fall is the most beloved of all seasons. It’s magical briskness has a way of charming even the most prudent cold weather hater – it’s certainly the most romantic of the seasons.

A Cake for All Occasions of Indulgence

Dessert is an exceptionally important part of life. It gives you a way to indulge once in a while and this cake really does the trick. It’s a mix of two of my favorite desserts, tarte tatin and sour cream cake. Where a more traditional tarte tatin would have you caramelize your fruit and cover it with a layer of puff pastry, I’ve found that covering the fruit in this sour cream cake produces a great lemony tang to balance the ubiquitous sweetness of the fruit.

Shakshuka: Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner

Shakshuka is one of those meals that is so easy you can’t believe how delicious it is. It’s a perfectly simple meal for a weeknight dinner or a quick way into a warm weekend lunch. It’s filling, comforting, sweet and spicy.

Figs Two Ways

The last few weeks of summer are so precious; you want to take it all in. Get in that last lake swim, one final camping trip, and probably one more al fresco dinner party - the kind that lasts from late afternoon to well past sunset, consists of multiple bottles of wine and lots of things to nibble on.

Chicken Soup for a Summer Cold

Summer colds are the absolute worst. They come on quick and force you to spend precious summer daylight under the covers, binging on shows you’ve seen one hundred times.

Hand Pies

I’m a big believer that all summer adventures should include dessert. There are certain desserts that just seem to make sense in summer and not at any other time of the year. Desserts that pair well with salty hair and sun-kissed skin.

Newport Folk Festival

Wow. That’s all I can really say about our time at the Newport Folk Festival this year. For those of you that don’t know, the Newport Folk Festival is a music festival taking place over a long weekend at Fort Adams, which is right on the harbor in Newport, Rhode Island.

Patatas and Pulpo

I like to think that through food and wine you can be wherever you want to be whenever you want to be there. As we move through life, lots of things change, responsibilities get greater and you can’t always jet off to your favorite place in the world on a moment’s notice.

Citrus Tart

Summer seems to be a season when every ounce of time is planned. Warm Saturdays and Sundays are for weddings and boat trips and pool parties. Everyone wants to get the most out of the fleeting days and create memories to get them through the colder months. Listen, I love a good picnic, pool party and beach day, but I also love a warm summer day spent on my own with things that I love.

Oodles and Oodles of Sesame Noodles

Summer in the city: humidity radiates from everything, and somehow even the most powerful A/C doesn’t hold up to the pudding like coating that you acquire when you walk down the street in July.

A Celebratory Barbecue

July 4th weekend is a great time to gather your friends and family and celebrate our great nation. It’s also a great time to gather your friends and family and have a reason to celebrate life in general. We took the opportunity here to gather and enjoy each other’s company for lunch on a sunny Thursday to give you some fun ideas for a July 4th barbecue.
