Seasonal Supervisor, Food & Beverage

Location: Geyserville, California

This is a hands-on Seasonal, supervisory management position responsible for creating exceptional guests experiences in Rustic and / or The Pool Café. F&B Supervisor will supervise / run operations of all Francis Ford Coppola Winery Food & Beverage outlets. He/she will model and create an environment in which the guest is cared for and satisfied. He/she will hold the service staff accountable to professional standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

The F&B Supervisor is responsible for supervising all aspects of Hospitality Food and Beverage Service at Francis Ford Coppola Winery in accordance with company policy and as directed by the General Manager. The F&B Supervisor oversees the day to day and long term service operations of the Food and Beverage Department. He/she possesses substantial and extensive F&B knowledge in order to describe menu items, upsell, manage and train staff in conjunction with F&B General Manager.

80%  Supervision, Guest Service and Daily Operation

o    Effectively lead the F&B outlet during a shift to ensure excellent F&B operations are consistently achieved.

o    Lead each shift by delegating duties, assigning specific tasks and ensuring team members are prepared for each day. Ensure F&B outlets are ready for operation and the beginning of the day, prior to opening.

o    Conduct daily Line Up for both Daytime and Evening Staff to inform team members of information relevant to the upcoming shift.

o    Contribute to team environment by recognizing and reinforcing individual and team accomplishments.  Maintain a positive work environment for team members and guests during each shift. 

o    Greet all guests and owners to make them feel welcome and comfortable. Provide the “ultimate” guest experience for visitors by practicing consistent, high-quality guest service.

o    Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge to promote the FFCW.

o    Be proficient in every area of the F&B outlets in order to help wherever needed.

o    Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the F&B outlets to ensure proper set up and breakdown of both FOH and BOH.

o    Follow sanitation and safety procedures in accordance with the health department regulations.

o    Provide leadership and personal support to team; coach, guide, nurture and develop team members, lead by example.

o    Train team members in restaurant policies, department procedures, and job duties based on company standard.

o    Drive company focus, maintain company culture, encourage a strong work ethic and foster an environment of trust and respect.

o    Communicate and support company policies and decisions in a positive manner.

o    React to guest concerns, examine returned items, and resolve problems to restore and promote good public relations. Handle guest issues / concerns if they arise and report to the General Manager, F&B Manager and / or Executive Chef.

o    Possess proficient computer skills (PC proficiency; ability to work with Word, Excel, Dinnerware, OpenTable, etc.).

o    Ability to manage time effectively while meeting all job responsibilities.

o    Maintain regular attendance and punctuality. 

20% Strategic

o    Assist with labor management costs.

o    Follow inventory control procedures and guidelines. Assist and compile monthly inventories. Oversee beverage storage areas, ensuring they are stocked, secure, neat and clean at all times.

o    Attend all mandatory FFCW meetings.

o    Assist in the development and execution of all SOP manuals for the operation

Work with other departments to develop and promote company image and act as an ambassador of the Francis Coppola Winery at all times.

 Ability to create business reports with 100% accuracy.

o    Produce Special Project Work as assigned by F&B General Manager.

      • Guest Expectations - Maintain, monitor and track guest satisfaction based on reviews such as Yelp.
      • Team Morale  - Assist in the development of staff appreciation events / Incentive Programs

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervise all FOH staff.  Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Plan, assign, and direct work; conduct employee meetings as necessary, inform employees of new policies and/or procedures; give feedback for appraising performance; address complaints and resolve problems.

Job Requirements:

Education/Experience: Previous management or leadership experience required. Some college preferred, High School diploma or equivalent or 3 to 5 years F&B experience required.


o    Food Handler’s Certified

o    Tips Certified.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
