Job Reports to:  Winemaker

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The focus at Domaine de Broglie is to create premier red and white wines from the Willamette Valley. Our workers will participate in all aspects of the winemaking process from fruit to barrel. We are looking for individuals who have a strong work ethic with attention to detail, who are team players and quick learners in a fast paced environment. Experience in the industry is a plus but not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  (List the primary duties and responsibilities that are a critical part of this job.)

 

1)       Cellar Responsibilities:
-Sorting, crushing and pressing of multiple grape varietals
-Sanitation of all winery equipment
-Must, juice and wine additions
-Pump-overs and punch-downs
-Tank and Press dig-outs and sanitation
-Barrel maintenance: racking, sulfuring, topping, and stirring
-Fermentation monitoring

 

2)       Lab responsibilities:

- Perform chemical analyses of wines and juices using a variety of methods,
- Responsible for operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments, and general housekeeping of laboratory.
- Prepare chemical reagents and order lab supplies.
- Responsible for sample collection.
- Accurately transcribe lab results to daily lab sheet and enter data into Winemakers Database
- Calculate and perform wine additions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Keen attention to detail, reliability, repeatability and organization.
  • Passionate about premium winemaking.
  • Willing to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Competent computer skills; experience with data entry preferred

  • Flexible harvest schedule including over-time and weekends, early mornings and evenings.
