Francis Ford Coppola Winery in Geyserville seeks a Landscaper/Grounds Maintenance to help maintain 8 acres of one of Sonoma County's premier travel destinations with ever expanding pool side gardens, park areas, and remote outlining properties with organic flower and vegetable gardens. The candidate must have 3-5 years of landscaping experience and a desire to learn new methods and processes in care and management of landscapes and hardscapes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Landscaping (70%)
- Planting and pruning of basic Landscape Plants and Trees
- Basic irrigation repairs
- Vegetable gardening, herbs, and perennials
- Organic pest management and soil amendment
- Operate high pressure washers
- Light construction and Hardscape repairs (20%)
- Basic carpentry and maintenance work
- Proper maintenance and storage of construction tools
- Rock work and drainage construction
- Other (10%)
- Maintenance of 4 Bocce Ball Courts
- May be required to work special events as maintenance support, as needed
- Weekend work may be required
Education/Experience: High school education, 3-5 years experience in the profession and a desire to learn new methods and processes in the care and management of landscapes and gardens.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Landscapers apply fertilizers, pesticides and other types of chemicals to control hazardous insects, weeds and unwanted plants. He/she must work on hillsides, slopes and flat ground.
Physical ability to perform strenuous labor, including ability to lift 60+ lbs. and to work in all outdoor weather conditions
Willingness to learn and apply new skills as needed for the required work
Have good listening skills and able to follow written and/or verbal directions
Able to work independently and in a crew environment
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Ability to operate a tractor and backhoe is a plus
Possess good work ethics and attitude and able to arrive to work on time as scheduled
Able to work in a safe manner and comply to company policies and procedures

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, landscape work is highly labor intensive. It requires using hand-held earthmoving equipment as well as heavy machinery. The tools include shovels, hoes, post hole diggers, rakes and many other hand-held tools. The Maintenance Gardener works with mulch, dirt, sod, plants, shrubs, water, sand, rocks and many other natural types of materials. This work is always outside where the team is exposed to the elements. This work is dirty and physically demanding.
Must be certified to drive/operate a forklift; in house training and certification will be completed as necessary to comply with Cal-OSHA regulations.
