Harvest Viticulture Technician

Location: Geyserville, California

Job Summary:  
Join the Family Coppola’s Grower Relations team as a Vit Tech this Harvest.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with the Grower Relations, Viticulture and Winemaking teams to ensure high quality grapes are grown and harvested for our wine programs. You will be responsible for checking on contracted vineyards in Sonoma County and across California. This position will start immediately; hours may include weekends and days longer than 8 hours during the harvest season.   Some laboratory work will occur later in the harvest.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Viticulture (85%)

  • Monitors contracted vineyards for pests, diseases and other cultural practices associated with viticulture
  • Assists in collecting data for estimating crop yields
  • Collects Maturity samples during harvest
  • Tracks vineyard data and enters into database

Communication (10%)

  • Provides feedback and communication with contracted growers
  • Interacts and communicates often with Winemaking Team

Laboratory (5%)

  • Basic lab work (Brix, pH, temperature, etc.)
  • Pulls tank and barrel wine samples
  • Data Entry

Job Requirements

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent required, at least one prior harvest experience preferred.  Completed viticulture classes or a basic understanding of viticulture is necessary.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Computer knowledge, skills and abilities (word processing, spreadsheet, database)

  • Basic knowledge of lab practices
  • Previous experience with Wine Maker Database a plus
  • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people verbally and written
  • Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction
  • Skill in working as part of a team; collaborating with colleagues.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to travel to and from vineyards throughout the North Coast.
  • Able to work outdoors in the varying terrain and weather.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Steel toe boots, safety glasses)


Other: Must have Driver’s license with clean driving record, be 21 years or over.  This position requires the candidate to have a vehicle, mileage with be reimbursed based on the current mileage rate.
