Facilities Tech III
Job Summary: The Family Coppola is seeking a strong mechanical technician capable of installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing winery equipment and systems. Sets a positive example for junior techs, teaching and coaching as needed, and helping to set expectations. Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Understands the hazards associated with maintenance work and fully supports company/department efforts to maintain a safe work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems:
- Bearings, chains, belts, couplings, etc.
- Motors and gearboxes
- Pneumatic control systems
- Pumps, seals, and valves
- Harvest equipment (presses, augers, destemmers, etc.).
- Operate and maintain support equipment and systems:
- Water/waste water processes
- Hot water boilers
- Air compressors and dryers
- Electrical distribution.
- Install piping, valves and fittings in stainless steel, Copper, PVC, and threaded pipe systems.
- TIG/MIG welding of stainless and mild steel and/or Aluminum (sanitary welding experience a plus).
- Rigging and setting equipment.
- Perform building maintenance tasks.
- Conduct maintenance work planning – materials take-offs and specification, time estimates, equipment needs, etc.
- Operate company vehicles, fork lifts, backhoe, personnel lifts and other heavy equipment.
- Keep accurate records detailing maintenance, service, and repair history on all equipment.
- Understand and comply with all safety regulations and procedures; take a lead role in making sure that the facility and equipment are safe for employees and visitors.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. However, as a senior level technician, leading by example and coaching/teaching is expected.
Education/Experience: High School graduate. Over five years of maintenance experience. Machine blueprint reading and repair. Extensive equipment repair and troubleshooting, welding/fabrication, and/or plumbing/pipe fitting experience.
Skills: Able to perform quality work efficiently with minimal supervision. Detail-oriented and accurate, with ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities. Leadership and people management skills.
Knowledge: Proper use of safety equipment and safety procedures. Basic math skills. Able to read, understand and follow written and verbal English instructions.
Physical: Able to lift, pull, and push up to 100 lbs. Carry up to 50lbs. with frequent stooping and bending. Able to travel by car. Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime and sometimes up to seven days/week during the harvest season. Able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and/or kneel for a minimum of eight hours per day in two hour intervals. Able to climb stairs to work platforms twelve feet or more in height. Able to crawl inside tanks. Able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions.

Other Preferred Job Qualifications:
Strong mechanical aptitude. Electrical distribution or controls experience. Previous winery maintenance experience. Winemaking knowledge and experience. Foreign language skills (Spanish) a plus.
