Though few in California are familiar with Vernaccia, as it is seldom bottled as a stand-alone varietal, it’s extremely popular in Tuscany and Sardinia. Light on the palate with citrus notes and a distinct salty-earthy sea spray impression, Vernaccia is transformed by the soils of Sonoma County to create a crisp, vibrant white wine.

With vines optimized by the preceding vintage, 2018 experienced a traditional season where heavy spring rains were followed by continuous summer warmth that allowed the vines to mature slowly. When harvest commenced in early fall, the fruit was perfectly ripe and very well balanced by crisp, natural acidity. The outstanding fruit quality of this vintage makes it the ideal year to debut this exciting limited production wine.
